HAPPY 2008!!!!

The sun rises, children grow, and a new year is upon us... it is inevitable, but with the new year comes a new start... a fresh outlook on life (and for some, a resolution to be broken)

I love the start of a new year... I feel like I can put the past behind me and move forward, without feeling guilty about whatever happened last year. But I do like to take an account of my life, for better or worse, and see where I am and where I need to go.

2007 highlights...

January: Got off to a pretty good start, I was pregnant and happy. I started to listen to The Book of Mormon (audio version). Started attending LLL meetings in preparation for breastfeeding.

February: My son was born, and my husband and I started our eternal journey in parenthood. not much else happened that month, either that or the sleep deprivation has robbed me of my memory of it...

March: Began getting more sleep and got used to being completely responsible for another person's physical well-being. Joined a wonderful parenting group.

April: Picked back up on reading The Book of Mormon after the birth of my son, continued learning about our little bundle of joy. Resumed crocheting and other pre-baby activities to keep my sanity...

May: My mother drove us across country to visit my husband's parents, and attend my younger sister's high school graduation...

June: Came home from our "vacation" early.............. my son learned to "scoot" and pull up to things.... started babyproofing the house... still working on that....

July: Celebrated the Independence of the United States of America.... continued learning about our son, tried to beat the hot weather in an apartment that was not equipped with air conditioning, because someone said "hmmmm it's Washington State, it doesn't get hot enough to need air conditioning in this state..." Idiots. My son starts "cruising", and later this month, decides to crawl

August: Continued listening to The Book of Mormon... again....... Had LOTS of fun introducing solid food to my son's diet.

September: Learned to knit as a birthday present to me.

October: joined in the hoorah that is Halloween... dressed my son up as a pumpkin (of course) had a blast at the annual "trunk-or-treat" that our church puts on...

November: Introduced my son to the joy of Thanksgiving. My son starts walking without assistance.

December: Worked my fingers to the bone, trying to get Christmas gifts knitted in time for the holiday (selfishly enjoyed every minute of it). Celebrated Christ's birth, simply, with family and friends. Didn't quite finish listening to The Book of Mormon, but learned a lot and enjoyed it.

So all in all, I think 2007 was a good year. I know that together, my family will make it through the coming year with style...

I hope that your year was a good one, and I wish you a wonderful, and peace filled new year... and many more to come...
